He is also the deputy secretary of Language Policy and Planning Research Institute of Chinese Linguistics Society, executive director of Society on Modernization of Chinese Language and executive vice president of Shanghai Language and Characters Workers Association.
He had been engaged in the administrative department of language and characters for a long time, participating in the drafting of national and local policies and plans in this regard. Since 2014, he has been specializing in the study of language policy and planning. He published such papers as Governance Theory and Language Planning: On Governmental Performance in Constructing “a Harmonious Language Life”, Useful language planning efforts for “The Belt and Road Initiative”, Language Planning for “the Belt and Road Initiative” and Governance of Global Language Life. He is now the chief editor of Research Report of Chinese Language Policy (language life blue paper), and the executive chief editor of Chinese Language and Characters Career Development Report (language life white paper).
