Head of Fabre Speller Architectes, French architect and restorer, expert in theatre spaces.
He graduated from the higher technical school in Zurich (ETH Zürich) in 1975. He started his architectural practice in 1978.
A significant place in the work of Xavier Fabre is the reconstruction and restoration of historical buildings with their adaptation to modern use, most often — for cultural institutions.
Among the awards — the award "Ecker d'argent" of the magazine Le Moniteur (1996) for the building of the theatre "Salen" in Martigues.
Among the buildings — the Center of contemporary art Le Creux de l'enfer in Thier (1988), the Center of contemporary art in Vassivier-EN-Limousin (1991, together with Aldo Rossi), the theater of The University campus in Paris (2004), as well as religious buildings, residential complexes, business centers, etc.
Xavier Fabre is the author of the project of the new stage of the Mariinsky theatre and the author of the project of reconstruction and restoration of a historic building of the Mariinsky theatre.
He teaches at the Paris School of architecture.
