Began his career in 1990 as the head and founder of commercial structures specializing in industrial construction, freight transport and foreign trade.

Since 2002 — a member of the United Russia party. In 2003–2007 headed the Moscow Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Organization of United Russia "Young Guard". Since 2007 — a deputy of the Moscow Regional Duma. He was a member of the Committee on Education, Culture, Sports, Youth Affairs and Tourism. Since 2012 - Advisor to the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation. In 2013–2018 — First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation. Head of the departmental project of the Ministry of Culture of Russia on the conservation of monuments of wooden architecture.
