In 2007, Sofya Trotsenko created and headed Vinzavod Center of Modern Art, one of the first and the largest art clusters in Russia, which helps support and develop modern art.
She is a public activists, Director of the School of Design, Institute of Social Sciences, Russian Academy of Public Economy and Civil Service. She initiated a number of projects that discovered and supported new names in contemporary Russian art — START and Open Studios; Best of Russia - the largest Russian photo project that studies the current state and development of Russian photography, and Vinzavod.Open — an institution that presents educational project strategies, results of most progressive educational initiatives and makes education an open and accessible system.
As Sofya Trotsenko became the director of the School of Design at the Russian Academy of Public Economy and Civil Service, she launched experimental and highly topical programs aimed at shaping a new language of art and use of cutting-edge practices in contemporary design. The School offers projects in environment design, graphic design, art business management, fashion industry management, urban and territorial development programs.
