Secil has been working as an urban planner for the Site Management Directorate of Historic Areas of Istanbul World Heritage Site since 2012.

She was born in 1976. In 1997, she graduated from the Urban and Regional Planning Department of Yıldız Technical Universtiy, Istanbul.In 2000, she earned her Masters Degree from the Landscape Planning Department of Yıldız Technical University with a specialty in "Streets as children playground, Case of Suleymaniye Neighborhood".
