Polina Kanis

Polina is a Russian interdisciplinary artist living in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She is a winner of the Kandinsky Prize (2011) and the Sergey Kuryokhin Prize (2016). Polina is a graduate of the Rodchenko School (Moscow), 2011.

Her work has been displayed in numerous solo and group exhibitions, film festivals and screenings, including a solo exhibition at Haus der Kunst in Munich (2017), the VISIO program at Palazzo Strozzi in Florence (2019), a parallel program Manifesta 10, the Ural Industrial Biennale of Contemporary Art (2015), Garage Museum of Contemporary Art (2014, 2018), VI Moscow International Biennale of Young Art (2015), Moscow International Experimental Film Festival (2016, 2018), Hamburg Short Film Festival (2019) and many others.

Her films feature in the collections of numerous museums and foundations, including the Brittany Regional Contemporary Art Foundation, Fondazione In Between Art Film, Rome, Foundation Kadist, Paris, etc. Kanis was an artist-in-residence at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten programs in Amsterdam (2017-2018) and ISCP in New York (2020).
