Onofrio Colucci

Actor, director, teacher.

Born in Suothern Italy in 1971, left his town at age 14 to peruse parallel studies of Land Surveying and Dance. Moved to Florence to study Architecture while extending his formation into physical theater with Russian Theatre Company DEREVO in Dresden (ex DDR). Finally left behind a rewarding academic career as teaching assistant to peruse his bigger passion and became full time professional touring with award winning shows across Europe. In 1996 met the world most accomplished clown Slava Polunin and toured with his Slava’s Snow Show playing the main role in over 45 countries. Major performing experience include 3 resident productions with Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, Macao and Tokyo. 

During last 10 years he’s been venturing successfully in directing, coaching and managing. During his constant upgrading and formation he has studied Commedia del’Arte with Antonio Fava, considered the most internationally influential expert of this art. Onofrio is currently Artistic Director of the world class project “Le Cirque World’s Top Performers”. His latest proud effort has been co-directing in New York State at the Summerscape Festival the Opera “Demon” composed by Anton Rubinstein after the famous poem of Michael Lermontov.
