Maira Valtere

Since 2016, Maira has been a member of the ICOM ICLCM. Her research interests have to do with the history of Latvian literature of the early 20th century, poetics of poetry, opportunities for museumification of literature, and history of museums in Latvia. She oversaw exhibition projects and cultural event projects such as Cafe Spleen or August 1914, which included exhibitions, concert programs, literary readings and theatre performances) as part of Riga — Culture Capital of Europe 2014 Program. She has also published research articles on the history of Latvian literature and the work and history of museums in Latvia.
Has been employed in the Janis Akuraters Museum, Union of Memorial Museums. Position — head of guidance programs, specialist in visitor relations. In 1998 received a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Theory of Literature, History of Literature and Literary Criticism in the Latvian Academy of Culture. In 2000, she received a Master's degree in Theory of Culture, and in 2002, a Master's degree in Museology in the Latvian Academy of Culture.
