Ksenia Malekina

Director of Lev Erenburg’s Nebolshoi Drama Theatre; the Head of the Production Department of the Summer Theatre Festival “Access Point”.

Ksenia was born on June 16, 1981, in Izhevsk, Udmurt Republic. Graduated with a silver medal from Sovetsky Town High School (AR of the Crimea), having changed more than ten schools. Upon her graduation, she got admitted to Izhevsk State Technical University, Department of Management and Marketing, where she specialized in Consumer Market Commerce — graduated cum laude in 2003.
In 2007, Ksenia moved to Saint Petersburg and worked as a manager for sales of metals, pipeline reinforcement for oil and gas prospecting industry, Head of the sales department in the same areas headed the company for complex supply programs for industrial enterprises.
In 2008–2009, Ksenia completed courses in acting and clown performance in the SAD Center of Cultural Initiatives.
In 2009–2011, she organized festivals for children and adults.
In 2010–2011, she cooperated with “OPEN CINEMA” International Festivals of Short Animation Films.
In 2012, she was admitted to Saint Petersburg State Academy of Theatre Arts, Faculty of Production (Major: “Performance Arts Production”). During her freshman year at the academy accepted the invitation of her mentor to become a director of Lev Erenburg’s Nebolshoi Drama Theatre having passed an interview at the Committee for Culture of Saint Petersburg City Administration. She has headed this state institution since 2012.
In 2016, she graduated from the Theatre Academy with honors, having defended her thesis on the Development Concept for the Nebolshoi Drama Theatre.
In 2015, Ksenia began cooperating with Summer Theatre Festival “Access Point”. From 2015 to the present time she has led the production department of this festival. This is the only festival in Saint Petersburg, which researches the city via the practice of theatre, modern and public art and offers the spectator a new perception experience and a different channel of communication with space.
In 2019, she was appointed the Head of Production Department of Night of Light in Gatchina, an international festival of lighting art, which was held in the Palace Park of Gatchina Museum and Reserve.
