Gregory Balzer

Gregory Baltzer was born in Moscow on the 27th of January 1964. In 1988 he graduated from the Moscow State Stroganov Academy of Industrial and Applied Art with the degree in decoration (furniture and interiors). In 1991 he founded first private furniture salon in Moscow, as well as a design studio. In following years, Gregory Baltzer opened a group of salons of contemporary furniture “Mobel cooperation”, which included such stores as: “Mobel”, “Shkafchik&Divanchik” and “Hello, matras!”. Later Gregory founded a “Ruslan” furniture salon. From 1998 Gregory Baltzer was engaged in recreation of historical interiors (in most cases entirely original with XVIII – XIX century furniture). Most of the objects were bought from the auctions around the world. One of his most extensive projects was transportation of a hunting house from an old estate in Ireland. In 2013 Gregory Baltzer have founded an auction agency (Baltzer Auction Agency & Services) that helps collectors and art lovers buy and sell objects on auctions around the world (today agency works with 823 auction houses), as well as provides all supplementary services: thematic search, provenance restoration, participating in an auction, payment, logistics, restoration, installation and etc. From 2014 the agency is based in a mansion on Arbat street, design by Gregory Baltzer with the accent on antique objects bought at auction. The mansion hosts private collector’s club events for soulmates that are bounded with common interests in diverse areas (at the moment agency and club provide events and services in 44 departments of collecting). BALTZER Club members are representatives of Russian and international business elite and political establishment, expert society, cultural and art figures, famous journalists.
