Elsa Rodrigues has her background in History, Photography, Museum Studies and Heritage. She works at João de Deus Museum, in Lisbon, Portugal, where she researches and mediates knowledge with visitors.

She is the Chairperson of DEMHIST (ICOM’s International Committee for Historic House Museums) that holds annual conferences, round-tables, workshops and training courses. At a national level, she has been organising national annual meeting on Historic House Museums for ten years. To increase her knowledge she was alumna of the Attingham Trust Summer School, of the Programme in New England Studies and of the Victorian Society in America’s Newport Summer School.

She has been publishing on history of education and giving papers at the ISCHE annual conferences.
