In 1982 Elena graduated from the Leningrad Academic Choreographic School named after A. Y. Vaganova, specializing in ballet (a student of N. M. Dudinskaya, I. A. Trofimova, K. M. Sergeev, I. G. Gensler). From 1982 to 2009 — a ballet dancer at the Mariinsky Theatre.
She graduated from the pedagogical faculty of the A. Y. Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet (2012 — bachelor's degree in ballet pedagogy; 2015 — master's degree in arts and humanities, with a first-class honors degree). Since 2015 — a graduate student of the Academy specializing in Art Criticism.
Since 2015 — a researcher, since 2017 — the head of the Cabinet of History of Russian Ballet named after M. Kh. Frangopulo (a museum).
She was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Culture and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation.
