The name of Denis Matsuev is inextricably linked with the traditions of the legendary Russian piano school, the invariable quality of concert programs, the innovation of creative concepts and the depth of artistic interpretations.

The rapid ascent of the musician began in 1998 after his victory at the XI International Competition. P. I. Tchaikovsky in Moscow. Today Denis Matsuev is a welcome guest at the world's central concert halls, an indispensable participant in major music festivals, a regular partner of leading symphony orchestras in Russia, Europe, North America and Asia. Despite the great demand abroad, Denis Matsuev considers the development of philharmonic art in the regions of Russia and a significant share of his concert programs, especially premieres, to be his main priority in Russia. In February 2006, the pianist joined the Council on Culture and Art under the President of the Russian Federation, in April 2006 he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia, in 2009 the title of People's Artist of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, and in July 2012 — the title of "Honored Artist of the Republic of Adygea". A landmark event for the musician was the presentation of one of the most prestigious world music awards — Prizes to them. D. D. Shostakovich, which was awarded to him in 2010. In accordance with the Decree of the President of Russia in June of the same year, Denis Matsuev became a laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of literature and art, and in May in 2011 the pianist was awarded the title "People's Artist of Russia". In December 2011, Denis Matsuev became an Honorary Professor at Moscow State University.

Since 2012, Denis Matsuev headed the Public Council under the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. In 2014, Denis Matsuev was honored to speak at the official Closing Ceremony of the XXII Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. In April 2014, UNESCO awarded Denis Matsuev the honorary title "UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador". In 2016, Denis Matsuev became the ambassador of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. In December 2016, Denis Matsuev was awarded the Order of Honor. Also in 2016, Denis Matsuev became the laureate of the Russian Government Prize in the field of culture for the international music festival Stars on Lake Baikal.
