Artem Silkin

Director, The State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve "Island-City Sviyazhsk".
Artem has been the director of the Museum-Reserve "Island-City Sviyazhsk" since 2010. He took the charge of the Museum-Reserve since its establishment.
He was instrumental in preparing the nomination dossier for the World Heritage Site Assumption Cathedral and Monastery of the Museum-Reserve Island-City of Sviyazhsk.

Today, Sviyazhsk is a major museum and tourist center, known by the professional community. It has been nominated for the Živa Award of the Forum of Slavic Cultures. The History Museum of Sviyazhsk is a nominee of the Nika award by the Russian Union of Designers. The Archaeological Tree Museum was awarded with a special mention during the Best European Museum of the Year award, and the AVICOM Committee Award.

Artem is a co-founder of the “Living City” Foundation for the support of contemporary art (Zhivoy gorod).

His interests range from museums, change management, creative economy, museums and theater to writing fairy tales.
