Andrey Fursenko

Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation.

A graduate of the Leningrad State University. In 1971–1991. Mr. Fursenko worked at the Ioffe Physical Technical Institute. After that during 10 years he devoted his efforts to innovative infrastructure development in Russia. In 2001–2004 he took the leading positions in the Ministry of Industry, Science and Technology of the Russian Federation. In May 2004, after the Russian Government restructuring, he was appointed Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. Since May 2012 Mr. Fursenko is the Aide to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. Chairman of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Science and Education. Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Russian Science Foundation. Chairman of the Board of Trustees Presidium of the “Talent and Success” Foundation. Co-Chair from the Russian side of the Coordinating Committee of the Russian-Austrian Public Forum “Sochi Dialogue”. He was awarded the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland”, IV class.
