Aleksey Yakovlev Protoiereus

For over 10 years had been a cleric in the Church of Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God in Alekseevskoye.

In 2013 was appointed a Rector of the Patriarchal Metochion in the name of the Holy Great Princess Olga, Equal of the Apostles, in Ostankino.

With the blessing of his hierarchy, Head of the project “Common Cause: Revival of Wooden Churches in the Russian North” gathers together concerned people who aspire to preserve holy places of the Orthodox Christianity and monuments of wooden architecture in the Arkhangelsk and Vologda Regions, as well as in the Republic of Karelia and the Republic of Komi, for eight years.

Over 13 years of the project's existence more than 370 expeditions have been arranged to explore 360 wooden churches and temples, and 153 cases of accident-prevention and conservation works took place.

Protoiereus Alexei has taught at the Faculty of Orthodox Culture in the Military Academy of Strategic Missile Forces named after Peter the Great for 15 years.
