St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum 2022 will take place in the renewed format

The St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum 2022 will take place from November 10 to 12. Its general topic is "The Forum of United Cultures". The organisers of the Forum are the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, and the Government of Saint Petersburg.

An important innovation in 2022 is the renewed architecture of the Forum: in the new format, it is aimed at strengthening the Forum’s status as efficiently as possible — as a venue for taking strategic decisions in the field of cultural policy in Russia.

This year, four Programme units correlated with the major focal areas of the industry are planned as part of the Main programme: "Arts", "Museums and Cultural Heritage", "Creative Industries and Modern Arts""Cinema". They replace sections and tracks of the previous years. Each unit features a programme covering the latest trends to the professional cultural community and provides the venue for working out solutions that will affect the day-to-day activities of cultural institutions.

The Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova:

"The Forum has always been the most important international venue for the dialogue of prominent figures in the field of arts, reputable experts, representatives of the business community, and highly ranked public figures on a wide range of issues. The Forum becomes especially important in the present geopolitical environment, with the events currently taking place in the world. The project’s positions are supposed to strengthen as a space for the translation of Russian policy statements for humanitarian issues. Global and national trends in the development of cultures, their place in the contemporary civilization process will be analysed in the course of discussions, contemporary challenges and threats will be evaluated".

Events arranged by Guest countries and Countries with special programmes, official events, agreement signings, and award ceremonies as well as the Practical programme "Culture 2.0" are still included in the renewed architecture of the Forum.

The General Staff Building of the State Hermitage Museum and the Marble Palace of the Russian Museum are the main venues of the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum 2022.
