The participants of the roundtable will discuss the following questions: Interest in local crafts and productions amidst the crisis caused by globalization and hyperindustrialization in the luxury and fashion industries. Addressing the national against the international backdrop created by global brands. Cultural appropriation — a real problem or the fantasy of the ignorant. The role of the museum in resolving this "conflict". The Museum and fashion — a step towards each other. The museum as an ideal place for a fashion show; the museum as a place of education of future designers, a laboratory of ideas and technologies for fashion and design professionals. Museums are becoming more and more "trendy," attracting an increasing number of young visitors. This is true for most of the world's major museums; it should be all the more true for museums that preserve tangible monuments of folk culture, such as the Russian Museum of Ethnography. Discussion of ways of possible mutually beneficial cooperation between the museum and representatives of the fashion and design industry in terms of the image of both sides and practical mutual benefit.
