In the 20th century, photography is the most vivid and most comprehensive medium that reflects all aspects of society, a ruthless document of the era and, at the same time, a field for the most daring experiments in art. Certain photographs became iconic, momentous, symbolic images of their times that had absorbed significant cultural and historical meanings important for understanding the specifics of a particular historical period.

The exposition will feature photo works by artists of different generations, mainly from St. Petersburg, who have captured the terrible period of the first wave of COVID-19 that has claimed the lives of millions, and, naturally, will resonate with residents of different countries. The tragedy of the 21st century is reflected in the works full of emotional experiences, bitter feelings, sad thoughts. Such an exhibition is being held for the first time and fully meets the role of culture and art in the difficult, tragic times of the world history.

The exhibition will take place for three days during the Forum: November 11–13.
